Padraig McKearney, aged 32 years, killed on May 8th 1987 Ð member Provisional IRA

Padraig Mckearney was one of 9 men killed in an SAS ambush at Loughgall Co. Armagh. The SAS shot and killed 8 Provisional IRA volunteers who were in the process of attacking the local police station. A civilian, Anthony Hughes, who happened to be in the area was also shot and killed by the SAS men. The ambush at Loughall represented the Provisional IRAÕs single worst setback during its modern history.
