John Reavey

John Reavey, aged 24 years, killed on January 4th 1976 – Civilian

John and Brian Reavey (see below) were both shot and instantly killed when members of the UVF calmly walked into their home on the night of January 4th 1976 and opened fire.

Their younger brother Anthony was also shot and badly wounded in the attack. Anthony Reavey later died of his wounds on 30th January 1976 (see below). In a coordinated attack just ten minutes later and some 15 miles away UVF volunteers entered the home of the O’Dowds near Gilford and killed three members of the family.
