Anne Byrne, aged 35 years, killed on May 17th 1974 – Civilian

Anne Byrne was one of 33 people killed when members of the UVF detonated four car bombs in Dublin city centre and in Monaghan town centre. In Dublin 26 people were killed by three no warning car bombs and in Monaghan town a further 7 people were killed when a fourth car bomb exploded. The coordinated attacks represented the worst single atrocity of the conflict for the entire island of Ireland.
