Cassie Riggs

Cassie Riggs is a Facilitator of both our epilogues and JustUs conflict transformation Workshop Education Programmes for adult and young citizens respectively. As a student of the Masters in Peace and Conflict Studies at the University of Ulster, Magee, in 2006, Cassie had the opportunity to participate in epilogues, and found its model of inquiry reflective, collaborative, and entirely authentic. “As a blow-in from London, epilogues gave me my first opportunity to hear a broad, nuanced range of perspectives on, and experiences of, the Northern Irish conflict.  This opportunity to engage with individuals’ unique and evolving perspectives and motivations shaped my professional interests.”

From GMT’s perspective it was clear that Cassie was a natural facilitator and we invited her to participate in our Facilitating epilogues workshop programme in 2007.  Subsequently she participated in our Facilitating JustUs workshop programme.

Beyond GMT Cassie is a mental health trainer and facilitator working with small groups across Northern Ireland. Her deep interests lie in discussing and improving the small, lived experiences of individuals and communities, and contextualising these within wider social and cultural frameworks to improve understanding, increase agency and foster hope.
