Betty Doherty
Betty draws on over 40 years of experience as a grass roots community activist for justice and human rights. She was Co-ordinator with Deirdre O’Hara of the Women’s Living History Circle from 1992 to 1994. This project interviewed and produced exhibitions and publications that documented and underscored the shared experience of working class Protestant and Catholic women’s lives in Derry’s Bogside and Fountain areas communities.
Betty has been a member of the Bloody Sunday March Committee since its inception in 2012, part of the team organising the annual March for Justice and its surrounding educational and cultural programme of events held in Derry around the anniversary each year.
She has been a member of GMT board since 2009 in which time she has held various roles. She is currently company Secretary.
